How can I renew a book? And can I renew Summit books?

Answer

You can log in to your library account, click on your name in the upper right hand corner, select "My Account", and then choose the "Loans" tab to see what you have checked out and select items you'd like to renew.

You can also renew over the phone by calling our Circulation Desk at (208) 885-6559 or stopping by in person.

Summit books can now be renewed, just like UI Library books!

  1. This is an unjust policy. Undergraduate students contribute uniquely to the campus community and should be given the opportunity to engage with texts for as long and as deeply as graduate students and faculty. A two-tiered system, with special privileges (the ability to renew, decreased or eliminated fines, access to carrels, etc.) for more senior members of the academic community is not only paternalistic and demeaning, but exploitative--without a large and engaged undergraduate population the library would cease to exist as we know it, and we are (or should be) a major cornerstone of its mission, not a cash cow with second class access to services. Please show us a little of the appreciation we deserve and share the love. Thank you.

P.S. I would have shared this in a more appropriate and private place if one were available to me. How about an email address for patron comments/complaints?
